About us.
LearningLab provides a unique and fun hands-on math program for students ages 7-12 years old. LearningLab is directed by Katie Crosby, M.Ed, an experienced tutor, former Principal and 4-6th grade teacher.
Meet our Founder, Katie M.Ed
Katie started teaching and volunteering right out of high school when she attended Utah State University for her undergrad and graduated Cum Laude in their College of Education- a top 5% school for education. She later went on to obtain her Masters Degree in Education and Leadership. She has since worked in education in many capacities as a teacher and leader in schools and the community- including working as a Principal before becoming a mom.
She took a break from formal teaching while her kids were babies, but continued learning as she has guided her own children through IEPs, speech therapy, occupational therapy, etc.
In recent years she opened her home in the afternoons to groups of students preparing for Jr High math. Drawing on past teaching experience she began LearningLab, where students could review foundational math skills in an engaging and hands-on way. Things have grown to include private tutoring for Elementary and Secondary students along with Elementary Math Remediation Groups or “Math Academy’s”.

Joann has been teaching in many capacities for over 10 years. With a degree in Early Education, she brings to the table an ability to break concepts down into their most simple forms and excels at making connections with students so they are excited to come back each day.
